The Promotion of Greek Products and Exports in 2026

According to the analysis by the Hellenic Exporters Association (PSE) and the Center for Export Research and Studies (KEEM), in 2025, Greek exports presented a mixed picture, although Europe remained their main destination. A slight decrease of 0.3% was observed in exports to the USA, while imports from that country increased.

Specifically, in December 2025, exports amounted to €4.11 billion, marking a 0.7% increase compared to the same month in 2024. Excluding petroleum products, the increase was limited to 0.4%, reaching €3.07 billion.

Imports, on the other hand, showed an upward trend, increasing by 1.5% or €113.6 million, with their total reaching €7.66 billion. Without petroleum products, the increase was 8.8%, reaching €6.39 billion.

As a result of these changes, the trade deficit widened by 2.4%, reaching €3.55 billion, with the situation deteriorating further without petroleum products, where the deficit amounted to €3.33 billion.

Regarding the entirety of 2025, exports decreased by 2.8% to €48.60 billion; however, excluding petroleum products, they recorded a 2% increase to €36.92 billion. Imports during the same period decreased by 4.1%, reaching €82.12 billion, with an increase of 2.4% excluding petroleum products.

The trade deficit for 2025 was reduced by 5.9%, reaching €33.52 billion, while without petroleum products, it increased by 2.9% to €29.57 billion.
