Rosé Wine Sales Surge in Europe Driven by Premium Offerings

By · May 14, 2026

According to The Drinks Business, the European rosé wine market is on track to grow from USD 4.8 billion in 2025 to USD 6.9 billion by 2035, marking a remarkable 43.8% increase, as reported by Fact.MR. This growth is largely attributed to the increasing popularity of premium wines, lifestyle-driven consumption patterns, and the expanding acceptance of rosé as a versatile choice for all seasons.

During this period, demand is expected to rise by nearly 1.44 times, fueled by a trend towards premiumisation, innovative quality improvements, and greater availability in restaurants, supermarkets, and online platforms. Notably, still rosé wines will continue to dominate the category, representing 68.4% of sales in 2025, as consumers increasingly prefer traditional winemaking techniques and the wine’s ability to pair well with various foods.

The UK is projected to lead regional growth, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.1% through 2035. Close behind are Portugal at 4.0%, Germany at 3.9%, and the Netherlands at 3.8%. Italy, Spain, and France also contribute to this upward trend, reflecting their rich winemaking heritage and shifting consumer tastes.

Producers are prioritizing premium quality, sustainable practices, and lifestyle appeal. Noteworthy initiatives include the launch of a new premium rosé collection by Whispering Angel in 2024, which emphasizes carbon-neutral production and eco-friendly packaging, as well as Mirabeau‘s introduction of an organic rosé line in 2025 that boasts enhanced flavor complexity. Additionally, Miraval is set to release a limited-edition rosé series in collaboration with celebrity partners in 2024, targeting a younger demographic.
