On Samos, where agriculture intertwines with philosophy, the “Erimitis” is born, a wine that highlights the relationship between man and nature, following the rhythms of the earth rather than the market.
At the western edge of Mount Ambelos, the Samos Cooperative along with its grape growers present a minimally interventionist wine that springs from the breath of the earth.
Stamatis Stasinis, a biodynamic practitioner and visionary grape grower, has transformed his vineyard in the Vasilikocharafa area into a living laboratory of spiritual cultivation. For him, the Muscat grape is the sacred link between the soil and the universe.
Following the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, Stasinis sees his estate as a living organism, in constant dialogue with cosmic forces. Biodynamic cultivation is his primary approach, with minimal interventions and respect for natural rhythms.
During the Full Moon, when the juices peak, interventions in the vineyard cease. The protection of the vines relies on natural extracts and zeolite, which absorbs moisture and provides coolness on warm days.
The production of the “Erimitis” is completed with a process reminiscent of a ritual, involving fermentation in traditional amphorae and aging in French barrels for 12 months. The result is a wine with intense aromas and an earthy taste.
The “Erimitis” carries the aura of the Aegean, with a finish that impresses. For Stasinis and the E.O.S. Samos, biodynamic cultivation is the only path to the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.
